The 1st annual workshop organised by the Association for teachers in and around Ile-Ife in Osun State took place on the 19th of September, 2019, immediately after the first annual conference. This workshop is remarkable as it was fully sponsored by the Association contrary to most workshops organised for teachers which are usually sponsored by the government.

The workshop was organised to
achieve at least one of the several objectives of the Association, viz: ‘To
provide services to teachers at various educational tiers that will promote
effective teaching and learning of language globally’.

The theme of the workshop was
‘Effective Teaching Methodologies in Language, Literature and Culture
Classrooms’. The theme was conceived to address the challenge of ineffective
or/and poor teaching methodologies prevalent in the Nigerian Language Arts
classroom.

The Chairman of the Board of
Trustees, Prof C.E. Onukaogu and another member of the Association, Prof A.V.
Jibowo anchored the sessions. Prof M.A. Adelabu, former Deputy Governor of
Ekiti State, present Chairman of National Board for Technical Education and a
former Chairman of the Ekiti State Universal Basic Education Board was there to
address the teachers.

About 300 teachers were mobilised by the Tutor Genetal for Osun East Mr Aderinola Adelani Akintunde and the Permanent Secretary, Osun SUBEB, Alhaji Fatai Adesina Kolawole who not only supported the Association with a cash donation but also delivered the keynote address.
