About the Journal
Journal of International Association of Language Educators(JIALE) is a professional refereed journal conceived with the objectives of impacting on the theory and practice of language education globally, and increasing the awareness of the central role of language in instruction, the world of innovation and the society.
Aim and scope
The journal aims to achieve a critical balance among areas of language education policy, practice and research by bringing these areas to work together in constructive ways. It offers a forum for scholarly contributions from language teachers, educators, researchers and policy makers at all levels of education (primary, secondary and tertiary) that will promote, as much as possible, the close synergy between content and pedagogy, among languages, and of language, literature, culture and literacy; and also impact on these connections. Research articles written in and on English, French, Hausa, Igbo, and Yoruba languages, literature and culture, general language development and pedagogy, linguistics/applied linguistics, literacy development, policy issues, innovation, curriculum and instruction, testing and assessment, etc. are welcome for publication.

Manuscript submission guidelines
- Manuscripts accepted for publication can be empirical research findings, analytical and logically written theoretical papers or book reviews of current scholarly books. Such must meet the following criteria:
- Relevance to the journal’s aim and scope
- Clarity of theoretical and conceptual frameworks
- Clear articulation of research methods for empirical and qualitative studies
- Data-based/literature-based findings and conclusions
- Originality of contribution; should be meaningful to the field of study and provide valuable insights
- Clarity and logic in writing style; should be written in language that readers will find accessible,
- Originality of conception; no plagiarism and must not under consideration for publication elsewhere
- All articles must be submitted electronically to jialeeditorial2020@gmail.com. To assist the blind review process, author’s names, institutional affiliations and e-mail address must be printed on a separate page from the main content. For articles with more than one author, the corresponding author must be clearly indicated.
- Manuscripts must be written MS Word format, Times New Roman 12-font size with 1.5 line spacing on A4 size paper. Length of the article, including abstract, references, tables, and figures, should not exceed 18 pages. Tables and figures should be kept to a minimum, be self-explanatory and inserted where necessary in the body of the paper. Figures (drawings, diagrams, graphs and photographs) must be of highest quality and suitable for direct reproduction. Manuscript must be accompanied by abstract of not more than 250 words, with keywords.
- Writing, editorial and referencing style must follow the guidelines in the Publication Manual of the American Psychological Association (6th Edition).
Publication schedule
- Submission deadline: June 15th, 2020
- Reviews, corrections, acceptance: June 15th- July 30th, 2020
- Publication: August 30th, 2020
Fees
- Assessment fee of N5,000 or $50 should be paid to International Association of Language Educators, Access Bank A/C 0798699592, and evidence of payment must be sent to the journal email with the manuscript.
- After due review process, authors of accepted papers will be contacted for the payment of publication fee which is determined subject to economic realities of each year.
